How to Update Captyne to the Latest Version

Captyne checks for updates every time you open the panel.

One-click update

When a new version is available, a banner appears at the top of the panel.

1. Click Update Now.
2. Windows: Captyne downloads the installer and runs it. Close After Effects when the installer asks.
3. Mac: your browser opens the download. Run the new .pkg with After Effects closed.
4. Start After Effects and open Window → Extensions → Captyne.

Some updates are required for security or compatibility. In that case the panel won't continue until you update.

Update manually

Download the latest installer from the installation page and run it. Installing over the old version is the right way to update. You don't need to uninstall first.

What's kept when you update

• Your own presets and purchased Marketplace presets
• Your settings, API keys and network settings
• Your saved captions (they live next to your projects)

You'll stay signed in on the same computer.

Check which version you have

The version number is shown next to the Captyne logo at the top of the panel.
